FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 10, 2008--ManTech
International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) announced today that its
employees supported the USSOUTHCOM Military Group (MILGP) in Colombia
during last week's hostage rescue mission. ManTech assisted the MILGP
with the installation and maintenance of the systems that supported
the planning, real-time tracking, sensor and imagery data provided by
the Intelligence Community. Additionally, the ManTech team in Colombia
assisted the MILGP with the enhancement of the Colombian Armed Forces
telecommunications systems which were critical to the command and
control of this rescue operation.
The Colombian government rescued 15 hostages that had been held
captive for five years and more by Colombian leftist rebels. Three of
the freed hostages were American military contractors; another, Ingrid
Betancourt, was a former Colombian presidential candidate; and an
additional 11 were members of Colombia's armed forces.
"It gives me great pride and pleasure to report that ManTech
played a key role in supporting this critical mission," said George J.
Pedersen, Chairman and CEO, ManTech International Corporation. "It is
representative of the many ways that ManTech provides worldwide,
mission-critical support to our national security and intelligence
efforts."
"We have supported this customer for more than 15 years," said
Robert A. Coleman, ManTech President and COO. "We provide the full
spectrum of IT services that includes the integration of new
technology and upgrades to the Colombian military command and control
systems that were critical in the success of this operation."
