FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 2008--ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT) announced today that ManTech MBI, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded a $9.7 million task order under the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway Leading Edge Solutions (EAGLE) contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Under this four-year program from the DHS Science and Technology Directorate, ManTech MBI (MMBI) will provide IT security compliance services, IT security architecture services, and IT security independent verification and validation (IV&V) of the Directorate's applications and systems at headquarters and throughout its numerous research laboratories.
MMBI, formerly McDonald Bradley, was acquired by ManTech in December 2007, and was awarded an EAGLE contract in the IV&V competency area in 2006. The DHS EAGLE contract is a five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract for IT services.
MMBI will employ an efficient and comprehensive methodology for addressing, implementing and maintaining the security requirements of all the Directorate's information assets to ensure adequate protection and full compliance with federal regulations and DHS policy and management directives. This security support will cover all aspects of the Directorate's software applications, computers, networks, audio and video-teleconferencing, telecommunications (secure and non-secure), as well as hardware acquisition and installation. MMBI will also provide ongoing IV&V services focusing specifically on identifying potential vulnerabilities and operational weaknesses for all of the Directorate's applications. Advisory services will include recommendations on the design and architecture of future systems to ensure that those meet DHS security standards.
"We are proud to land this first EAGLE project as a prime contractor with DHS and to have the opportunity to provide our highly-regarded IV&V and information assurance services," said Kenneth Bartee, President, ManTech MBI, Inc. "Our many years of expertise in delivering similar services at other agencies coupled with the ability to provide highly qualified personnel was a key factor in our selection. We are excited to begin a long business relationship with the Department of Homeland Security and, particularly, the Science and Technology Directorate."
Missing Link Security, Inc. will be a sub-contractor on this project.
The DHS Science and Technology Directorate is responsible for researching and organizing the scientific, engineering, and technological resources of the United States and leveraging those resources into tools to protect the homeland. The Directorate manages several research labs responsible for developing, testing and deploying leading edge technologies to counter existing and emerging threats to the U.S. Approximately 20 IT systems are currently certified and in use with an additional 40 systems projected to be up and running within two years.
